Zachary Shacter

A Florida boy turned mountain man, Zach moved to Denver after college. After working in the outdoor industry in the big city for several years, he found it was time to settle into the high mountain valleys.

Zach moved into the original cabin at the Corruption homestead in the summer of 2018. Coming from a family of homebuilders, he went to work on improvements to the property in preparation for Elise’s arrival.

Elise Darling

As a Minnesota native and Colorado transplant, she’s cut her teeth as a guide in many different forms. From backpacking to canoeing, dog-sledding to cross-country skiing, no season has kept her away from the wilds. Elise put down Denver roots in the service industry around 2013 to keep her close to the mountains and rarified air.

After five years of slinging craft beer, fine wine, and the occasional chicken liver paté, she called it quits to build the Corruption brand with Zach. She hopes to fuse her knowledge of backcountry travel and experience in guest service to create an accessible and enriching adventure for visitors.

Argos, Kootenay & Jasper

Argos has been Zach’s sidekick since 2013. Adopted from the local animal shelter in Denver, he’s lived a life enjoying fetch at the lake, backpacking trips in the Rockies, and afternoon couch-naps. Needless to say, he’ll fit right in at Corruption. Argos is an Australian Shepard mix with the cutest smile.

Kootenay and Jasper are brothers from Yellowknife, NWT originally. Adopted by Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours of Canmore, AB, they ran on tours with Elise back in 2013. As they begin retirement at 8.5 years old, they still enjoy a good pull and subsequent rest by a shaded creek. Kootenay is a lover of all small things - from children to dogs. Jasper is all teddy-bear with his classic Siberian coat.
